Rainforests Now

 | The biological fabric of the world has been made threadbare, with the destruction of rainforests being the lead factor in the current Mass Extinction of species, estimated to be over 400 species extinctions each day | |
 |
Humans have been destroying rainforests for a few thousands years but only until recently has this destruction threatened the extinction of most of life on Earth. This destruction has now reached such a critical level that it is estimated that accessible rainforests will be completely wiped out in 45 years. Along with them will disappear — become extinct — perhaps 90% of Earth’s unique life forms — the vast majority of which we’ve not yet even identified.
This destruction of the planet's biological fabric is so great that it is now estimated that the Earth is losing more than 400 species to extinction each day. This is a greater rate of species extinction than occurred 65 million ago, when that asteroid hit the planet.
In a few short years, Earth will have been forced into an entirely new era. It is unlikely that humans will survive this Mass Extinction, since all of our lives and our Civilization is entirely dependent upon the integrity of the world’s biological fabric.
