Rainforest Relief's Main Computer Taken
June 8, 2005
Whoever has this computer, please read:
On Wednesday, June 8th, on a bus from New York City to Washington DC, the laptop belonging to Tim Keating, Rainforest Relief's director, was taken from his bag. The laptop is a 4-year-old Apple Macintosh iBook, 12" white model, with environmental stickers nearly covering the cover. It was taken with the black case, which contained some notes, a power cord and an adapter.
If you are in possession of this computer or know of someone who is, we would like to make arrangements for the return of the computer or contents, no questions asked. There is a reward of $400 (roughly the resale value of the computer) for the return of the computer or $200 for the return of the entire contents. In this case you can keep the computer and get another $200 by sending us the data — so, if you want to keep the computer and download the contents onto CDs, please, let's make arrangements to do that.
The loss of this computer is a major setback to our campaigns to save rainforests. The computer is full of important research and information, as well as personal data — including family photographs — that are extremely important to Tim.
Rainforest Relief can be reached at 917/543-4064 or by email at t.keating(at)rainforestrelief(dot)org
or relief(at)igc(dot)org.
Please, if you have any respect for what we're doing to save rainforests for everyone, please get in touch.
If there's anyone else that can help with this situation, we could really use your support.
