Rainforest Relief recently sent a letter, signed by numberous organizations and scientists, to the Chinese government asking them to control logging in the area of Northwest Burma known as N'Mai Hku. The letter was authored by Edith Mirante of Project Maje and sent by Rainforest Relief, signed by 13 U.S. and international organization as well as thirty-one individual scientists, conservationists and attorneys from around the world.

The letter is a follow-up to a report by Global Witness which highlights the involvement of Chinese logging companies in the rapid deforestation of this mountainous region of Northwest Burma.
