Retail Stores
The use of tropical hardwoods is popular for doors, foyers, interiors, displays, flooring and furniture in retail stores.
Rainforest Relief initiated our first retail store chain campaign in 1994 when we succeeded in convincing Barnes & Noble to end the use of mahogany and other rainforest wood in new store construction.
Since then we have identified a number of retail chains that have used or are currently using wood from endangered tropical forests in store construction. But we need volunteers to work on compelling these stores to end their use of rainforest wood and convincing other chains to resolve to never use rainforest woods.
