Less than 24 hours before our Outdoor Furniture Day of Action would have targeted Restoration Hardware stores in four cities, a vice president of the company called requesting that we cancel our actions. In the discussion that followed, we made it clear that Restoration would have to commit to the phase out of nyatoh, logged from old growth rainforests, mostly in Indonesia.

Restoration's VP agreed to start a dialogue with us and agreed to look at the phasing out of nyatoh and other woods from endangered forests. Considering these commitments, we agreed to call off our demonstrations, the first of which was scheduled to occur the following day in Portland.
