The Boardwalks of New York City
 | | |
 | NYC Parks uses ipê and cumaru for boardwalk construction and maintenance for the 12.5 miles of NYC's coastal boardwalks. | |
New York City Department of Parks and Recreation is responsible for the construction and maintenance of most of the coastal boardwalks in New York City. But other entities — mostly so-called "public benefit corporations — such as Hudson River Park Trust and Brooklyn Bridge Park Development Corporation, are responsible for other, smaller boardwalks.
